Have a drink at a rooftop bar

There are some great Gold Coast bars to choose from, and why not make that special night out all the more incredible by choosing a rooftop bar?! There are so many great ones to choose from, so we thought we’d outline just a couple of our favourites. The Burleigh Pavilion is set over the southern corner of Burleigh Beach and features an alfresco terrace bar which gazes out over the ocean. With great drinks and food options to choose from, this will be the perfect spot for a romantic date. Frida Sol is another great rooftop bar as it offers its guests a Mexican experience. With a rooftop bar decked out with cacti and bougainvillea, amazing murals, and lovely ocean glimpses, it’s no wonder why this is such a popular date night spot. The Island is another fantastic rooftop bar boasting the Gold Coast’s largest rooftop bar and alfresco space. With a Californian style vibe, great music and breathtaking sunsets on show, this will surely impress your date.

Take a hot air balloon ride

One Gold Coast attraction for the memory books, and a great addition to any romantic road trip itinerary, is a hot air balloon ride. Hot Air have some great packages on offer and promise an awe-inspiring birds-eye view of the beautiful Gold Coast region. Fly high above the city, taking in the sights for a date to remember… We’re sure this date will win you many brownie points!

Sit under a waterfall

Most of the time when people think of the Gold Coast, they think of the picturesque beaches, thriving nightlife and great shopping. But the hinterland areas just outside of the Gold Coast are just as amazing. With ancient rainforests, cool freshwater creeks and cascading waterfalls, a trip out here will have you immersed in nature and in awe. A popular waterfall, nestled within the Mount Tamborine region is Curtis Falls. Not only is the drive here breathtakingly beautiful, but the walk and waterfalls themselves will delight and amaze. The Purling Brook Falls is another spectacular waterfall to witness. There are circuit trails you can follow that winds throughout ancient rainforest, guiding you to this dramatic 300 ft waterfall. If you want to make a day of it you could pack a picnic in your maui camper kitchen and head out on the road to discover some of the many waterfalls on offer, a true adventure date day.

Wander through the rainforest

There is an incredible rainforest walk called O’Reilly’s Tree Top Walk. This is the world’s first suspension bridge that invites you to wander along as you observe life in the rainforest canopy. The suspended bridges are around 15m above the rainforest floor and are a free activity to do, making this a great and cheap romantic date idea! The walks will guide you through the cool canopy of flowering and fruiting trees to the two observation decks which have been constructed high in a Strangler Fig. The walk is within the Lamington National Park and we’re sure it will impress both you and your date.
