What to Expect at Pickup

Share

We hope you are as excited as us about your upcoming holiday! To make sure you are fully prepared we'd like to take you through what to expect at the branch when you arrive to pick up your camper.

Before you arrive

  • Complete your Self Check-In. This will speed up the check-out process for you and allow us to have your information, including extra drivers, pre-filled in our system before you get here. It also ensures you will receive our handy pre-travel emails with camper holiday hints and tips and the all-important campervan show-through video, to familiarise you with your camper before you get here. Closer to your arrival, our crew will be in touch on the phone number you provide, to collect the balance payable and answer any further questions you have.
  • Take the time to read the Rental Agreement. You need to understand, and be familiar with the content as this is what you will be signing at pick-up. you can view the document in the App.
  • Download the thl Roadtrip AppThis will help you plan your holiday and give you access to a show-through video of your camper.
  • Pack your Driver's Licence. It is vital that you bring your Driver's Licence with you. If your driver's licence is not in English then we require an accredited English translation or an International Driver's permit, along with your driver's licence. We must sight both at pick-up otherwise we cannot release the vehicle.

Getting to us

There is no customer parking available in the grounds of our branches, but there is a wide range of safe, secure and affordable parking options situated close by. We recommend using Parkopedia to find a convenient parking spot, or if you're local, have a friend or family member drop you off. Flying in? Our branches are closely situated to domestic airports, allowing you to easily reach us via taxi or public transport. Visit the branch location page for more information.

In branch and collecting your camper

  • To ensure we keep our customers and crew safe, we have put in place a number of measures at our branches. Please adhere to signage and instructions and where possible please reduce the number of people that come into the branch to pick-up. We recommend that only the primary renter is present at pick-up
  • When you arrive, make your way to the check-in counter. You'll just need to show us your driver's license and credit card and we'll process anything else we need to, depending on your booking. You'll also be asked to sign the Rental Agreement
  • If there are any extra hire items you have decided to add to your booking, you can do so at this time
  • we will then take you to your camper, where you'll watch an introductory show-through video of your home on the road. This will give you the chance to get to know the camper and ask your Branch Host any questions you have before hitting the road. This video is available in the thl Roadtrip app, so feel free to download the app, filter it with your camper booking details and watch this video ahead of your arrival
  • We also have a whole bunch of 'Camper Help' videos, showing you how to use different features of your camper. From plugging into power, to emptying the toilet casette, setting up the dining tables and making the beds - you'll be a pro in no time! These are all available in the thl Roadtrip App for you to watch at your convenience during the trip
  • Pack your belongings into the camper and hit the road! Remember, don't drive too far on your first day and make sure you have a campsite booked at a holiday park to plug into power, fully charge your battery and settle into your camper
