You should only dispose of your waste in designated dump stations. You’ll find these located at most campgrounds around New Zealand or sometimes on the outskirts of towns and cities.
Dump Stations can be found on the AA website and using the maui Roadtrip App. You can also keep an eye out for the blue dump station symbol during your travels:
